China Completed Construction of an Emergency Hospital in Just 10 Days

  • China just finished the construction of an emergency hospital to fight against corona virus in Wuhan.
  • The construction was started on 23rd January 2020, and the last brick was laid on 2nd February 2020.
  • The hospital is built on an area of 25,000 square meters and has 1,000 beds. The hospital will be operated by 1,400 staff members.

China has finished the construction of a 1,000-bed hospital in order to treat victims of deadly corona virus that has caused 362 deaths and over 17,000 infections at home and abroad as of 3rd February 2020. The construction work was started on 23rd January 2020 and was completed on 2nd February 2020. The specialized hospital in Wuhan was completed in just 10 days. Further, a second with 1,500-bed hospital is under construction. This hospital is expected to be opened on 5th February 2020.

Medical teams from the People’s Liberation Army have reached Wuhan for working at the new hospital. Its prefabricated wards are equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and ventilation systems. The updated figures of 361 deaths and 2,829 new cases in China has brought the total Chinese cases to 17,205. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that these numbers will keep increasing as tests are pending on thousands of suspected cases.
